Where is the file “channel.asp” found in version 5?

The channel.asp file is no longer used as of version 5 of WorkflowGen. The SharePoint Portlet can be integrated through the following URL:

http://YOURSERVER/wfgen/show.aspx?QUERY=SHOW_RSS

All parameters remain the same as in WorkflowGen version 4.

Example 1

http://YOURSERVER/wfgen/show.aspx?QUERY=SHOW_RSSUSERNAME=wfgen_admin

http://YOURSERVER/wfgen/show.aspx?QUERY=SHOW_RSSXSL=/wfgen/App_Themes/Default/portal/rss/default.xsl

Note: There is a new security rule in version 5.

  • Only WorkflowGen administrators can access the Portlet of other users by using the USERNAME parameter
    • Regular users can only access their own Portlet
    • By default, the Portlet of the connected user is displayed if the USERNAME parameter is not provided in the URL
