I’ve been working on a project where our SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central module triggers approval workflows that need to sync with an external workflow engine for certain HR and finance processes. The challenge I’m facing is maintaining data consistency and approval logic between both systems, especially when rules in SAP are driven by position hierarchy and the external system follows a different routing structure.
Has anyone here implemented a workflow integration where SAP’s business rules need to communicate with another workflow engine like WorkflowGen or a similar platform? How do you usually handle updates or changes in rule conditions to make sure both systems remain in sync without duplicating logic?
While having this error, I’ve been exploring SAP’s workflow framework more deeply while preparing for my certification (using Pass4future’s practice material for SAP exams), and it’s made me curious about how others handle hybrid approval workflows in real implementations.
Would love to hear your experiences, especially around versioning rules, error handling, or rollback strategies when one system fails mid-approval.
