WorkflowGen 8.7.0
WorkflowGen 8.7.0 adds Microsoft Graph for Remote Approval and includes security updates to Authentication, GraphQL, webhooks, and SCIM, together with an updated recommended Node.js runtime.
These notes describe the changes since WorkflowGen 8.6.0.
Important
-
Database upgrades: There’s no new 8.7.0 database update script. Installations already updated through 8.6.0 don’t need an additional database script for this release. Older installations must first apply the applicable update scripts in order.
-
Microsoft Graph Remote Approval: Use a dedicated Exchange Online mailbox and one active listener for that mailbox. The connector supports Microsoft 365 Global Cloud with application authentication using a client secret. Before changing connector settings or testing the Graph connection, disable Remote Approval, save the setting, stop all listeners for the mailbox, and wait for current processing to finish.
-
Node.js: The supported minimum remains 24.19.0 within the Node.js 24 release line. WorkflowGen v8 Docker images remain based on Windows Server 2019 (
ltsc2019).
Platform
- Update (#5067): Updated the recommended Node.js runtime and supplied Docker images to 24.21.0.
Security
-
Bug (#5091): Protected delegation changes and their notification emails against requests that fail the required security checks.
-
Bug (#5090): Strengthened security checks for global list management.
-
Update (#5059): Updated Authentication components to address known security vulnerabilities.
-
Update (#5065): Updated production dependencies in Authentication, GraphQL, webhooks’ and SCIM to address known security vulnerabilities.
-
Bug (#5122): Strengthened security checks when saving process settings.
Administration
- Bug (#5122): Corrected saving the requester notification setting for request closure in all process states, including Active and Archived.
Remote Approval
-
New Feature (#4981): Added Exchange Online - Microsoft Graph as a Remote Approval connector, including a connection test in the Configuration Panel. Existing POP, IMAP, Exchange Server, and Exchange Online EWS connectors remain available.
-
Improvement (#4981): Added explicit options to keep, replace, or clear an OAuth client secret without displaying its stored value. An empty secret is rejected while Microsoft Graph Remote Approval is enabled.
Portal
- Bug (#5091): Improved the display and translation of messages when delegation actions cannot be completed.
Notes
-
Included Node.js modules are Authentication 3.4.2, GraphQL 5.5.2, Webhooks 6.4.2, and SCIM 3.4.1.
-
If Microsoft Graph Remote Approval is interrupted, a message may be processed again when the service resumes. Changing between EWS and Graph requires reviewing the complete configuration; separate settings are not retained for each connector.
