**Note:** Since WorkflowGen version 6.x.x, no more COM+ applications are required. This article applies to WorkflowGen 5.x.x only.

What is the purpose of the `MSScriptControl` and `FDF` COM+ applications?

COM+ applications are required when IIS and the WorkflowGen Engine service are running in 64-bit.

The `Msscriptcontrol` application is used in workflow conditions, but as of WorkflowGen version 6.x.x, a new technical solution has replaced the use of `MsScriptControl` with a .NET solution.

The `FDF` application provides support for PDF forms, and is not required for web form users.
