# Change archived process state

When a process is archived, why can’t we have the option to change its state after? I came across a scenario where I needed to change it back but could not.

Hi @ParadimeWeb,

The best practice is to go to that archived process and create a new version of the process. This will restore your previous process and also makes sure that the version numbers are coherent. (You don’t want v1 to be the updated version of v2)
